Jiri Cehovsky has developed a form of treatment which he terms autopathy. Simply put, it means using a remedy made from the patient herself. This isn’t a new idea, and is mentioned in KN Mathur’s Principles of Prescribing, as autotherapy. What Jiri Cehovsky has done, is greatly refine this method and produce thousands of cured cases to affirm it. His newest discoveries and improved methods are the subject of his latest edition of Get Well with Autopathy.

This method springs from the mind of a seasoned classical homeopath. Jiri Cehovsky practiced and taught classical homeopathy in the Czech Republic for the last 22 years. He also served for many years as the Chairman of the The Homeopathic Society. Eight years ago he started to use autopathy, which he described in his first book A Homeopathic Journey to Harmony.

We all understand that when you are sick, you need a remedy that resonates to your frequency, ie. the simillimum. Finding that simillimum is what homeopaths strive for, yet manage to accomplish less than half the time. As Cehovsky puts it : ”With the autopathic approach, the problem of resonance is solved beforehand. Your individual remedy doesn’t have to be searched for. You carry it in your body, though in raw form.”

With autopathy, the selection of the remedy is not an issue, yet there are parallels to classical homeopathy. One must still take a careful case, in order to determine the correct potency, to track progress of the case, and to know when to repeat it, or change the potency. The remedy can trigger aggravations and the cure should follow Hering’s Law.

As conceived by Cehovsky, autopathy is designed to be used by the patient herself. The process is sublimely easy. One spits or breathes into the autopathy bottle, pours water through it and applies the remedy to the forehead. Keeping a diary is the only other requisite. When the remedy is made by the patient, it avoids contaminating variables which would occur if it was made in a pharmacy, where others handle the bottle, alcohol is added, it is shipped long distances etc. For people who are very ill, someone else can prepare the remedy, with the proper precautions.

Cehovsky initially stated that: Saliva carries the perfect individual information of the entire organism. He has now expanded that to include the breath. He also now recommends applying the remedy to the forehead between the eyes, the 6th Chakra, which he believes will have the greatest effect on the vital force.

I’ve made homeopathic remedies over the years, using a dropper bottle and the Korsakovian method. A 30c required 1500 succussions, careful measuring and many hours of work. Cehovsky’s autopathy bottle can produce the same potency effortlessly, in about one minute. It is based on the flux-vortex method of Finke and Skinner.

Water and saliva flow from the funnel down the tube to the bulb, which creates a vortex, which acts as succussion. As more water flows through the device, the potency increases. One liter produces approximately a 40c.

You may be wondering how he arrived at the relationship between water volume and potency. He first made a potency of ink with the Korsakavian method. He found that the water became clear at 3c. Then, using ink in the autopathy bottle, he found how much water was needed to make it clear and thus a 3c. The rest was simple arithmetic. With running water (chlorine free ), very high potencies can be reached rather quickly.

After working with very many patients, Cehovsky discovered that sometimes the remedy didn’t hold, or didn’t act as well as expected. He finally attributed this to various parasites and tried killing them, first by adding alcohol to the saliva. Now however, when parasites are suspected, he suggests boiling the saliva for just a moment, before potentizing it. Another blockage to treatment is the patient being too acidic. The Autopathic remedy, placed on the forehead, will sometimes raise the PH of the saliva within minutes. Eating more alkaline foods, Sodium Bicarbonate and practicing stress reduction also raise the PH.

In addition to treating chronic illness, the author has used Autopathy for first aid and acutes. The book devotes thirty nine pages to various types of cured cases, which include everything from influenza to cardiac arrythmia. The author states that animals can also be treated with autopathy and that just a drop or two of saliva will do.

Jiri Cehovsky still uses homeopathic remedies, but sees autopathy as another, very important tool. He says that the more accurately a remedy is tuned to the patient, the greater the curative effect…and “the greatest similarity is found in sameness”:

If the physician’s highest calling is to make sick people healthy, to heal as it is termed, then we should allow ourselves as many healing tools as possible. I for one, shall add autopathy to my repertoire.

  • DEAR DR,
AUTOPATHY GIVES AN IMPRESSION THAT THE PATHY IS DIFFERENT FROM HOMEOPATHY WHERE AS THIS IS NOT. IT IS BASED ON FUNDAMENTALS OF HOMEOPATHY THAT IS LIKES CURE LIKES WITH MINIMUM DOSE AND HIGHER POTENCY THEN THE DISEASE . NOTHING COULD BE MORE SIMILAR THAN THE TISSUE TAKEN FROM THE DISEASED PATIENT HIMSELF AND REMEDY MADE OUT OF IT BY METHOD OF SUCCESSION/POTENTISATION. WHEN ALL REMEDIES GIVEN IN MATERIA MEDICA FAIL, THAN THIS IS THE BEST METHOD OF CURE. IN FACT WE SHOULD NAME IT AS AUTO-HOMEOPATHY
    THANKS AND REGARDS
    DR SHEKHAR
