Who missed last month’s brain-teaser? Here it is again with the answer to follow:

Mom, what are you doing?

Spring cleaning, Shana.

Did you know that in Jaipur it’s 105 degrees?

What?  OMG!  Who could possibly live in a place like that?

Dr. B.

Did you say Dr. B????  In that case, what could be better than Jaipur?!

Can we do our case for April, by any chance?  I suggest that you do Mati’s sprained knee.  (By the way, Mati Fuller actually came to see you????)

It could happen!

**********

Hi Elaine,
I was wondering if you could give me an idea of what to take for my knee

which is swollen and stiff at the moment, and has been so for about 2 weeks now. I even had a chiropractor look at it, and he said there was nothing wrong with it. It seems to be getting worse every day.
It happened when I tried to climb down from the scaffolding outside in the cold.

Should homeopaths really be out on scaffolding? Shana, look up “Delusion, construction worker, she is”!

It’s not here, Mom!

Hellooooooooo……this is Mati again…. So, I reached for a step with my right foot, and as a result, my left knee bent too much.

Oh my God! An over-bending accident!  I hate it when that happens!

Right…. So, by the next day, it was swollen and stiff and feeling bad.
Worse for walking, worse for standing, worse for bending, no pain when walking, just discomfort and tightness. Standing makes it swell more (but it is not a hot swelling). A tight bandage feels good. Feels better in the morning after sleeping, and worse after walking around on a hard concrete floor in the icy cold.

Now I hear cracking inside the knee when I go upstairs.

I’m very chilly. When I go out, I have to wear 3 sweaters + a down jacket!

Last night, I wrapped it in a heating pad. The heat felt great, but it is still swollen and doesn’t feel good.
I did a dose of Arnica when it happened, but didn’t keep it up.
Yesterday, my fingers were too swollen to wear my ring.

What do you suggest?

I suggest going to the jewelry store and buying a larger-sized ring.  And you could also try __________________30C, three times a day for three days for your injured knee. Put the remedy in water, succuss 5 times before each dose. If you get worse, stop dosing. If you observe a striking improvement, stop dosing. Resume if you start to relapse.

Hi again Elaine,
Yesterday, I stayed away from heat and did a few doses of ______________ as you said. By evening, the swelling had gone down a bit, and this morning, most of the swelling is actually gone! So, I think ___________ is actually the one. And, I wasn’t nearly as chilly yesterday, either. So, I think I’ll stick with _____________ and a bandage for a few more days and see what happens. I can even bend the knee today, which is very good. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’ve been dealing with this dumb knee for about two weeks, and today, it is so much better. Even though it is still a bit swollen, I can actually bend it today, and it feels a lot better.
So, thanks a million!!!

Shana, send Mati a bill for a million dollars.

Check!

Now, who knows what the remedy is? Write to me at [email protected] and let me know, the answer will be in the May issue. See ya…..

VOTES

Hello all! I have no vote count for you today because my computer actually got a virus last week and I had to have the whole hard drive wiped clean! I lost a lot of documents, including all the votes that were cast from last month! Luckily, though, everyone was wrong! The only person who came close was Myriam from France, who simply would not give up! She kept trying and trying and trying! Finally she got it right! Here’s what she said:

Ledum –

Oh …..I am so stupid !!!  Merci!!!!  I learned so much with this case.

Yes, it’s Ledum! How did you know?

GE : chilliness

Mb : inflammation knee cold

Ge : lying amel

My first error was giving too much (importance ??) at warmth – it’s normal wanting warmth when feeling chilly

********************************

Well, that about sums it up, doesn’t it? The first thing I did was go to “Knee, swelling”. Of all the remedies in bold, only one looked interesting to me: Ledum. Why? The famous coldness at the site of the injury! I know, I know, Mati’s knee wasn’t cold; but it wasn’t hot either! And that’s what I found interesting: Knee swelling, not hot! For me, that was reason enough to look up Ledum in the materia medica, and sure enough, there were all the elements of the case: CHILLY, better lying down, better rest, and stiffness! Did you know that Ledum had stiffness? Anyway, there was the whole case. Our congratulations go to Myriam for not giving up!

Try again with this month’s quiz–see you again next time!
