The patient is a girl of 12 years, living in Gurugram. I first happened to see this case in July 2017. At that time she had been suffering from this ailment for a few years and had taken various treatments. Alopecia areata is non-cicatricial, non- inflammatory hair loss with discoid areas of hair loss. Sites involved are scalp, beard, eyebrows, eyelashes and at times generalised. Etiology may be genetic, immunological or even stress induced. In this case, it involved eyebrows. Prior to the development of this disease the patient suffered from lice infestation.
Physical Generals Desire – sweets and salty, watermelons, chocolates
Stool- constipated since early childhood, history of many enemas , now passes stool once a day or at times once in two days.
Urine- dark coloured, frequent urination.
Sleep – on abdomen
Thermal reaction – chilly
Tongue- moist and clean
Oily skin especially about nose.

Hobbies- singing, dancing and reading. She is in class 6th, but dances with students of class 10th. Talks maturely like an adult. Thinks a lot and takes stress easily. Groundless fear of death. Fear of thunderstorms. Anxiety prone personality.
Oversensitive , cries while watching an emotional scene. Sympathetic towards friends but does not like to share her belongings. Weeps at times and averse to consolation. “Desire to be the best”.
No history of childhood diseases like chicken pox, measles and mumps.
Patient was given Carcinosin 0/1, tds, and is currently on 0/4. She has shown visible improvement and her constipation is also much better than what it used to be. The prescription was based on:
Family history of cancer
Conscientious and diligent patient
Hot thermal reaction
Precocity in terms of competing with many seniors.
This case has been under my treatment six months now.
