Homeopath Ana Isabel Neto presents a cured case of hypertension in a man of 46.

Name: D. C.  – First consultation – 21.07.2016

Male 46 years old, he works with an insurance company. Married, 4 adopted children, aged between 11 and 17 years old, they are siblings.

Chief complaint : high blood pressure (170/90) for the last three years,     + “Preterax”= 140/80

Past history:

Childhood diseases. He suffered a pneumonia at 18 years of age. He was hospitalized for 6 months.

Family history:

Mother, 68 years old, had a stroke 3 years ago, and suffers from liver cirrhosis. Father died aged 54, from liver cirrhosis.

The grandfather on the mother’s side had alcohol problems and the grandmother from cerebral embolism.

The grandfather on the father’s side died very young, he supposed from pneumonia.  The grandmother from heart attack, aged 60.

Physical generals:

Appetite – normal; Thirst – 2 liter per day, room temperature;

Food – He eats everything but takes more vegetables, salads, fruit, more fish than meat, and no carbohydrates or fries. He likes spicy, curry and “hot food” with moderation. Rarely does he eat sweets.

Stools: once a day, but when he overeats, he has constipation.

Others: no tobacco, no drugs, wine sometimes at the meals; no coffee (on account his blood pressure).

Sleep – he usually sleeps well, but when stressed he has nightmares, and he wakes up often at night.

Climate – he prefers summer time, doesn’t like cold or rain.

Emotional:

He was 24 years old when his father died, and he felt the responsibility of the family (mother and 3 brothers), and at that time he developed anxiety and panic attacks, and he had psychological counseling and he recovered.

In these past years he is much stressed, easily irritated; he has a “hot temper” at the least thing. Much impatience with his children, but he tries to control himself.

Always lots of ideas, very creative, his mind doesn’t rest.

Feels better when he talks to people.

First prescription:

Nux vomica  30CH,  once a day, before sleep, for a week.

I prescribed Nux vomica because of the stress, irritation, impatience. His busy mind, and food preferences.

Follow-up 1

09.09.2016

He had headaches for 2 days in the beginning of the treatment. After a few days he stopped taking “Preterax” and the headaches stopped too.

He had his summer holidays during the month of August, and didn’t work, so it was easy to keep the blood pressure in the normal range.

When he returned to his office, in the end of the first week the blood pressure was high again, and he took the remedy again as per the first consultation.

Prescription – Nux vomica 30CH, once a day, before sleep, for 2 weeks.

Follow up 2

30.09.2016

Much better.

The blood pressure is 120/80 after 2 days of medication, and still good. Better sleep.

More calm, less stress, less irritation.

In a word, he feels good.

Prescription – Nux vomica 200CH, once a week, for a month.

Follow up 3

14.11.2016

He is very well. The blood pressure is good, 120/80.

He didn’t take any more of the allopathic medicine.

He managed to deal with his daily problems in a calmer way, working fewer hours and enjoying the family more.

Prescription – Nux vomica 200CH, just in an emergency situation.

Now he is very happy and every now and then he sends me a photo of the screen of his blood pressure device, showing the reading. The last one 120/80, pulse 58.

Conclusion:

After the analysis, I have before me a much stressed man, with a lot of responsibilities at work and in his family.  He was so excited, that he talked and at the same time he looked at his wrist watch, constantly watching the hours.

  • I have gone through the paper. It is nice. It would be more beneficial to us if the repertory rubrics are added to the case record. Thanks.

  • Repetition was scheduled to be once a week of nux vomica 200ch, how it can be judged without watching the reaction of patient. In the philosophy it is mentioned to never repeat till the patient is improving or in other words repetition is allowed when the symptoms relapse back. For the same time it is advised to ‘Watch and Wait’.

Please, clear my doubt regarding the repetition according to my above understanding .

    Thank you !!
